2008 Updates from Amy

April 24, 2008

Amy is in Kentucky, but thanks to a last minute knee surgery Wednesday (yesterday), will not be riding. Needless to say, Pogi is a little cranky that his rider is lame and that he has to stand around while all the other horses get to have fun.

They are both looking towards Jersey Fresh now. Wishing all the horses and riders a very successful Kentucky weekend! (

Amy reports she was very pleased with the boys this past weekend at Red Hills. Poggio competed in the CIC***W and was in 11th place after dressage with a 51.2. He started off well on the cross-country course but was retired after the eighth fence having gotten his tongue over the bit.

Leyland and Devon competed in the CIC*** and finished in 2nd and 4th places respectively. Smarty competed in the Intermediate division, his third competition at this level, finishing in 11th place. Amy was particularly pleased with everyone's show jumping rounds - a double clear for Leyland, clean jumping with two time faults for Devon and a double clear for Smarty. (

Next up for the boys is Poplar Place HT where everyone will be competing at the Preliminary level for a bit of a breather. Then they are off to The Fork in early April for the CIC. Stay tuned for more news in the coming months.

Kick on,

Red Hills was a heart wrenching weekend. Everyone is very saddened by the accidents that occurred and our thoughts, prayers, and many wishes for a speedy recovery go out to Darren. We also send our condolences to Jonathan and Missy for their very tragic losses.

2006-2007 Archived Updates from Amy

April 2, 2007

I can’t believe it's the start of a new season already! Every year it seems to be less of a break over the winter. First bit of news, I decided to sell Woodstock. He went to Ellie Crane, in Ohio. I'm very excited for them and wish them the best of luck. The Woodstock group decided to invest some of Woody’s proceeds into a new prospect and purchased a lovely grey gelding named Smarty from Joanne Bridgman of New Zealand. More

We have had more natural disasters in the State of Washington in the last few months than I can ever remember. Are those frogs or locusts I see raining from the sky? Greg and I feel very lucky to have escaped mostly unharmed; however, I have gotten very intimate with our chainsaw and tractor. Greg on the other hand could have a new career as a pyromaniac (he gets to burn all the stuff we cut, with a permit of course...) More

September 25, 2006 (Aachen report)
The first bit of exciting news is the arrival of a new Team Tryon member: Le Samurai, a.k.a. Sparky. Sparks arrived the first part of June and quickly fit in - a bay, slightly quirky, and a cribber - how could I go wrong! More

Overlake Hospital Benefit
September 2005, Amy and Poggio II performed an exhibition ride at Rock Meadow Equestrian Center in Issaquah, WA to benefit Overlake Hospital. Poggio enjoyed meeting many of his fans and was very excited to have the chance to show off his dressage and show jumping skills to a new audience.

The local exhibition also gave Amy's colleagues from Eastside Fire & Rescue
a chance to see her ride.
